I studied fine-art textiles at Goldsmiths, leaving in 1983 and went on to have a few shows based on issues of sexual identity and erotic imagery. The images on this page are from those shows at Interim, Brixton Art Gallery & The Royal Festival Hall, which were organised by Gay Mens Press and appeared in their 1984 book, 'Out in Art.'

I also did a bit of screenprinting for designers such as Leigh Bowery, appearing alongside him at a group performance fashion event at Riverside Studios in 1984, where I showed my Aids Collection of shirts using the inflamatory Tabloid headlines of the time overlayed onto gay pornography. I then went on to do styling for photographers and pop videos/ commercials.
I was part of the group that started the NoLogo recycling shops for Oxfam in the late '80's; we had several fashon shows and a few appearances on the telly on things like 'The Clothes Show.' I even interviewed Bjork on MTV; those were the days.

I lost the plot for a while after that, but a few years ago did some ceramics courses and then started taking loads of pictures of myself in my uniforms, suits and various other guises, always fascinated by the subversive and contradictory messages of classic codes of male attire and fetishes, especially smoking. This has evolved into my first proper show for many years and I finally think I've found a way to express my ideas.
